Z is for zest and zucchini and the end of the alphabet!

Woo hoo! I've made it to the end of the alphabet. (Phew.)

Zest is the colourful substance grated or scraped from the outer surface of unwaxed citrus fruits. Here are some recipes featuring zest:

lemon butter
lemon meringue pie
pumpkin soup with drizzled coriander pesto

The vegetable (or is it technically a fruit?) zucchini is also known as courgette. Zucchinis tend to grow fast and in huge quantities so people who grow them often find themselves suddenly swamped. Here are some fun things to do with zucchinis:

chocolate zucchini muffins
goat's cheese and rocket tortellini
zucchini, basil and feta fritters

Happy (almost) 2020!
