This had been on my wish list for AGES! There's a llama farm at Sutton, about 20 km from Canberra, that offers educational visits and breakfasts. I booked a couple of nights ago to go there today for brekkie and some schmoozing with cute critters.
We hand-fed carrot slices to the llamas ('like posting a letter') and discovered that they're suckers for neck pats.
Apparently they usually offer a barbecue breakfast but the chef is currently unavailable so we enjoyed a platter of bread, cheeses, cold meats, pickled and fresh vegetables, crackers and fruits. (Forgot to take a photo but it was delicious.)
More info and bookings at Alpaca Magic (www.alpacamagic.com.au).
