Walter Burley Griffin was an American architect, known for designing Canberra and some smaller NSW towns. He worked closely with his wife, Marion Mahony Griffin, who was also an architect and artist. Recently a couple of new eateries popped up next to Lake Burley Griffin: Walter Café, serving breakfast and lunch, and The Marion, serving lunch and high tea. It's a gorgeous spring day today and we had a delicious brekkie at Walter.
We started with coffee …
Then he had:
Poached eggs and Black Forest bacon on sourdough
And she had:
We were both tempted by the Croque Madame too. May have to go back and try that!
Nice. I really like high tea (as noted here and here and here) so we'll have to visit The Marion some other weekend. The view over the lake was stunning too.
