Canberra Cake!

Did you know that Canberra will be celebrating its centenary in 2013? It seems a local chef – Janet Jeffs of Ginger Catering – was commissioned to design a cake to celebrate our town's 100th birthday, and it sounds rather yummy, featuring local walnuts, apples, carrots and honey. Check out the recipe here. The cake features many ingredients sourced from within a 100 mile (160.9 kilometre) radius of Canberra.

Happy (almost) Birthday, Canberra.

Update: Sunday 9 February 2014

We caught up with friends at the National Arboretum today, and found Canberra Cake on the menu at the Sprout Café! How cool is that?

Andrew's review: 'It tasted like carrot cake
with some extra bits ... nice and spicy!'
