It's winter here in Canberra. While my friends who hail from places like Harbin and Graz would disagree, it's been pretty chilly lately. We try to eat mostly local, seasonal food, and it can be challenging to plan a menu in winter. Still, there's some gorgeous produce available right now at my local organic shop!
Here's what I bought there today, and how it will be used:
- English spinach, Spanish onions, garlic, ginger, and milk, to make some palak paneer to take out to dinner with friends on the weekend
- cauliflower and spring onions, to make spicy cauliflower fritters for dinner
- pumpkin and coriander, for some soup with a curry kick
See? Winter is a wonderful excuse to stay inside and cook up a storm ...
