Education

Education is the surest route to a life that is better in essentially all the ways that matter: intellectual, social, financial, even physical.

I copied this phrase down ten years ago when I read it in a Scientific American magazine. While it is not a recipe in the usual sense, I believe education is an essential ingredient for a happy, healthy and examined life.
